Willis Kwakkel

Willis “Bill” Kwakkel, age 79, of Ripon, passed away on Tuesday, January 31, 2017, at his home with his loving family by his side.
Willis was born on March 22, 1937, in Alto, WI, the son of John and Johanna (Konings) Kwakkel. In 1959 he married Sharon Vossekuil in Waupun, WI. Willis was an active member of Countryside Christian Church, and actually was the one who started the Open Door Ministry there. He was a truck driver, and took great pride in his trucks. He also loved to work on and fix up Simplicity lawn tractors.
Willis is survived by his wife, Sharon; daughter, Brenda Dusso of Neenah, WI, and grandchildren, Adam and Justine Dusso of Oshkosh; a son, Harlen (Brenda) Kwakkel of Ripon, WI, and grandchildren, Lora Peoples of Ripon, WI, Joshua Kwakkel of Oshkosh, WI, and Sarah Kwakkel of Oshkosh, WI; great-grandchildren, Kaiden and Wyatt Peoples of Ripon, WI, Macie Kwakkel of Oshkosh, WI; two sisters, Julene Kickert and Albertha Loomans;nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Gilbert Kwakkel; sisters, Harriet Kikkert, Junice Hopp, Jean Vande Slunt, and Gretchen Van Houten.
A visitation for Willis will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2017, from 9:00 to 11:00 am at Countryside Christian Church, 1483 Burr Oak Road, Oshkosh, WI, 54904.
A funeral service for Willis will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, February 4, 2017, at Countryside Christian Church, with Pastor Dan Gibson officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Ripon, WI. A memorial is being established in his name.
