William R. Porky Epley, age 61, of Green Lake, passed away on Wednesday, August 11, 2010, at his home with his family by his side.
Bill was born on January 31, 1949, in the North side of Chicago, IL, the son of Elisha and Irene (Greenfield) Epley. He graduated from Lincoln High School in Chicago and went to college to become an electrician. On July 16, 1972, Bill married Mary E. Lucas in Chicago. He served our country in the United States Army for 20 years with 3 of those years in Vietnam. Bill worked in maintenance for Melrose Distribution. He was a Scout Leader for 20 years and a baseball coach. He made sure the children in the neighborhood had Popsicles and Band-Aids and he was a handyman for everyone. Bill was always a joker.
Survivors include his wife, Mary of 38 years; son, Bill (Mandy) Epley and their family, Misty and Peaches; nieces, Tammy, Wendy and Robin; brothers, Eddie and Johnie; and all family and friends. Bill was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Tommie and infant twins; sister, Anne; and niece, Penny.
Visitation for William R. Epley will be held on Saturday, August 14, 2010, from
1 - 3:00 pm at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Drive, Ripon, WI 54971.
Memorial Service for William R. Epley will be held on Saturday, August 14, 2010, at 3:00 p.m. at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon, with Pastor Jim Ogle officiating. Full Military Honors will follow. A memorial is being established.
