William W. McLaren, age 92, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Thursday, November 12, 2020 at Prairie Place in Ripon.
William was born on December 19, 1927 in Evanston, IL, the son of John and Mary (Worledge) McLaren. He married Grace Ann Somers in Wauconda, IL, in 1953. William served our country in the U.S. Navy during WWII and also in the U.S. Army for the Korean War. Throughout his life he worked in the diesel industry in many capacities. He started as a diesel mechanic in the Navy, traveled the country as a salesman, and helped to start the diesel programs for the tech schools in Wisconsin. He loved woodworking, tractors, music, bingo, and most of all spending time with his family.
William is survived by his children, Neil (Joan) McLaren of Rock Springs, WY, Carmel (James) Jankovich of Brainerd, MN, Robin (Timothy) Herchenbach of Wild Rose, WI, Heather (James, Jr.) Bednarek of Ripon, WI and Kisti (Leif) Douglas of Wild Rose, WI; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Grace Ann McLaren; and two sons, David William McLaren and Bryan John McLaren.
