William "Bill" Doty

Wonderful father, grandfather, brother and friend, William “Bill” I. Doty passed away from this life to his new life with Christ on Sunday, October 11, 2020 at Ripon Medical Center.

Bill was born in Berlin, WI on September 27, 1940 to parents Duane and Ruth Doty. He married the love of his life, Susie Plath in 1963 and they made a home in Kingston, WI, where they raised their family. Bill worked at the Ripon Cookie Factory, the Berlin Foundry, owned his own hardware store, worked at the Kingston sewer plant, managed apartments, maintained the Kingston cemetery and was a handyman for all of his neighbors and family members.

Bill was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Kingston and took his faith very seriously. He loved God, his family and his friends, and always made himself available for anyone who needed him. Bill was known for his sense of humor; always smiling and laughing and engaging in good conversation. Pabst beer, playing cards, talking smart, working on cars, working on lawn mowers and fixing appliances were some of his favorite things to do.

Bill is survived by his sons, David (Kim) Doty and DJ (Amy) Doty; grandchildren, Brittany (Steve) Wilcox and Bryce Doty; great-grandchildren, Dawson “Spike”, Bentley “The Duke”, and Quinn “Little Susie”. Siblings, Viola (Gary) LaPorte, Ruth Ann Mann and Andrew Doty. He is further survived by brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws, Russell "Bucky" Plath, Darlene "Beady" (Robert) Behling, Roger Peterson, Kerwin Koehn, Jim Meilahn, Betty Plath and Lois Plath.

He was preceded in death by his beautiful wife, Susie; his parents, Duane and Ruth Doty, and his brother, James.

A Celebration of Life for Bill will be held at a later date when it is safer for everyone to gather. Condolences may be sent to DJ Doty at 860 W. 20th Ave., Oshkosh, WI 54902.
