William Bartz

William “Bill” Lucian Bartz, age 88, of Pickett, WI, passed away on Monday, January 9, 2023 at Ripon Community Hospital.

Bill was born on June 23, 1934 in Eldorado, WI, son of Elmer and Edna (Close) Bartz. He was baptized on October 14, 1934, and graduated from Ripon High School. After graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served our country for two years. Bill went on to complete the Short Course for farming at UW Madison. On October 10, 1964, he married Joyce Jones at the First Presbyterian Church in Oshkosh, WI. Bill was a lifelong farmer, enjoying and taking great pride in his farm in Rosendale. Bill was a devoted member of Rosendale United Church of Christ, where he served as trustee. He also served several years on the Town of Rosendale Board, as well as the Pickett Co-Op Board.

Bill is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Joyce Bartz of Pickett, WI; a daughter, Lisa Jo (Arnold Atienza) Bartz; a son, Todd William (Julie) Bartz; and a brother, Jerry Bartz. He cherished his animals, Jeb and Rosie, and especially Ginger who passed away. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Edna Bartz; a brother and sister-in-law, James and Bernice Bartz; and a sister-in-law, Sharon Bartz.

Visitation for Bill will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2023, from 1:00 - 3:00 pm at Rosendale United Church of Christ, 204 W. Division St., Rosendale, WI, 54974.

Memorial service for Bill will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, February 4, 2023 at Rosendale United Church of Christ, with Rev. Wesley Wassell officiating.
