Wilbur Sauerbrei

Wilbur “Will” Sauerbrei, age 74, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Saturday, November 16, 2013, at his home.

Wilbur was born December 3, 1938, in Ripon, the son of Ervin and Francis (Stargarht) Sauerbrei. He graduated from Ripon High School. On June 17, 1979, he married Ardythe Marie (Kohn) Baggett in Markesan, WI. Wilbur worked as a truck driver his whole life. He was employed by companies including Grand River Co-Op for twenty years, and Flash Trucking for seventeen years, until retirement. Wilbur was a member of the United Methodist Church in Markesan, and he enjoyed playing cards; traveling; visiting the Casino’s; playing dart ball; and gardening.

Survivors include his children, sons, Scott (Lori) Sauerbrei, Wisconsin Dells, WI; Shawn Sauerbrei, Bluffton, SC; Randy (Diana) Sauerbrei, Kingsland, GA; daughter, Sheryl (Kevin) Rank, Doniphan, MO; step-sons, Leonard (Laura) Baggett, Markesan, WI; William (Gayle) Baggett, Markesan, WI; step-daughters, Laurie (Joel) VandeStreek, Markesan, WI; Amy (Carl) Kellum, Waupun, WI; twenty grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; brothers, Ervin Sauerbrei Jr., Dean Sauerbrei, and Terry Sauerbrei; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ardythe, and his parents.

Visitation for Wilbur Sauerbrei will be held on Thursday, November 21, 2013, from 4:00-7:00 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Drive, Ripon, WI 54971, followed by a visitation on Friday, November 22, 2013 from 9:00- 10:30 am at United Methodist Church in Markesan, 74 W. Catherine Street, Markesan, WI 53946.

Funeral Service for Wilbur Sauerbrei will be held on Friday, November 22, 2013, at 10:30 am at United Methodist Church in Markesan. Reverend Ethan Larson and Reverend Gary Zacharias will officiate. Interment will follow at Markesan Memorial Cemetery in Markesan. A memorial is being established.
