Vilas Fude, age 83, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Saturday, April 15, 2017, at Pleasant Park Place in Ripon.
Vilas was born March 30, 1934, in Fairwater, WI, the daughter of Paul and Emma (Malzhan) Zabel. She graduated from Fairwater High School. On October 13, 1956, Vilas married Donald R. Fude at First Congregational Church UCC in Ripon. She worked at Ripon Foods and then at Ripon Printers, where she worked as a binder and retired from after 20 years. Vilas was a past leader of the Spring Valley 4-H Club where she taught knitting. She was a member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Ripon.
Survivors include her two daughters, Lori (Eric) Lund of Bloomington, IN and Melissa Krumenauer of Oshkosh, WI and one sister, Elda (Robert) Schmidt of Brownsville, WI. Vilas is further survived by several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Emma Zabel; husband, Donald; daughter, Lisa and sister, Ardis Zabel.
Visitation for Vilas will be held on Tuesday, April 18, 2017, from 4 – 7:00 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Dr., Ripon, WI 54971 and again on Wednesday, April 19, 2017, from 10 – 11:00 am at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 430 W. Griswold St., Ripon, WI 54971.
Funeral Service for Vilas will be held on Wednesday, April 19, 2017, at 11:00 am at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Ripon. Reverend Clay R. Salmela will officiate. Interment will follow at Dartford Cemetery in Green Lake. Memorials may be directed to Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 430 W. Griswold St., Ripon, WI 54971.
