Verlene B. Dombrowski of Ripon, WI, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, April 3, 2026 with family at her side.
In 1943 Verlene was born to August and Eleanor (Bohochik) Spacek in South Milwaukee, WI. She was a graduate of Oak Creek High School, and shortly after became the wife of her late husband, Donald Dombrowski, Sr. Verlene and Donald shared 65 wonderful years together. She held various jobs over the years, but her commitment to her family took precedence over all. Her love of family gatherings created memories that are now treasures of a lifetime.
Verlene’s greatest joys in life were walking her dog for miles a day, tending to her flowers, listening to Elvis while she did her word searches, usually with a cookie or two. A good trip to the casino always brought a smile, as it also did when she often donated to numerous non-profit organizations.
Verlene is survived by her children, Debora and Wayne; her dog, Willie; four grandchildren, Edward, Zachary, Makenzie, and Bryce; four great-grandchildren, Connor, Maleya, Zayne, and Kacin; and her siblings, Phillip, David, Jean, Gail, Jimmy and Joan. She is further survived by spouses; in-laws; significant others; nieces; nephews; cousins; and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, August and Eleanor Spacek; husband, Don Dombrowski, Sr.; son, Don Dombrowski, Jr.; great-grandson, Myles Bryant; and her sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and George Harvanek.
Verlene’s family will have a celebration of life at a later date. A memorial in her name is being established.
