Vera Swanson, age 96, of Moscow, Idaho, passed away peacefully on Thursday morning, August 19, 2010, at Gritman Medical Center, Moscow, Idaho.
Vera was born and raised in Minnesota. She married Orville Swanson in Ottawa, MN, on September 16, 1933, and moved with Orv to Oshkosh and Green Lake as employees of the Chicago Northwestern Railroad. Vera was an active homemaker caring for her family and working outside the home as a gift store clerk. She lived independently in Wisconsin until 2007, when she moved to Clark House in Moscow. Vera was actively engaged in playing bingo, card games and hosting visits from friends and family for the last three years.
Vera was the proud mother of two sons and their families, Orville and Ardelle Swanson and Barry and Darcel Swanson; loving grandmother of Steve, Jeff, Alyssa, Krista, and Sara; and caring great grandmother of Kurt, Kyle, Mike, Barry, Mattea and Ribbe; Vera is survived by her brother, Albert who is currently residing in Minnesota. Vera was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Orville; brothers, Kenneth and Gomer; sister, Beth; and good friend and companion, LeRoy Theune; and many friends throughout the years.
The family is planning a private memorial service on Saturday, October 30, 2010.
