Velma Ellen Manthei, age 91, of Princeton, WI, passed away on Wednesday, November 8, 2017, at Marthas in Princeton.
Velma was born August 14, 1926, in the Township of Manchester, WI, the daughter of Richard and Paula (Stellmacher) Sell. On January 23, 1944, she married Harold Manthei. Velma worked as a housekeeper and in a canning factory, but most of all she was a homemaker. She was a past member of Trinity United Methodist Church of Montello. Velma enjoyed growing flowers in her garden and crocheting. She also liked Peacock birds and collecting dolls. Velma was known for baking chocolate chip cookies for her grandchildren and the neighbors children.
Survivors include seven children, Daisy (James) Chase of Ripon, WI, Cherry (Calvin) DeRemer of Ripon, WI, David (Linda) Manthei of Oshkosh, WI, Bonnie (Dennis) Klawitter of Pardeeville, WI, Curtis (Teresa) Manthei of Princeton, WI, Kristine (Ron) Murphy of Princeton, WI and Cynthia (Randy) Revels of Ripon, WI. Velma is further survived by one daughter-in-law, Terri Kramer of Oshkosh, WI; 19 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren with two more on the way. Velma was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Paula Sell; husband, Harold; two sons, Thomas and Randy; one daughter, Ginger; one grandson, Jeremy; three brothers Clemens, Wilber and Elmer and one sister, Frieda.
Per Velmas wishes there will be no service. A private family inurnment will be held at Manchester Cemetery in Town of Manchester.
