Sylvia Froehlicher

Sylvia F. Froehlicher (nee Church), age 81, of Green Lake, WI, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Tuesday, April 18, 2017, at Appleton Medical Center in Appleton, WI.

Sylvia was born on August 15, 1935, in Bluefield, West Virginia, the daughter of John and Margaret (Byrd) Church. She graduated high school in Wilmington, DE, and went on to serve our country in the United States Air Force. In 1957 she married Donald A. Froehlicher in Charleston, SC. Sylvia was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Green Lake. She was also a member of the American Legion, Tuscumbia Golf Course, Parent Teacher’s Association, and the Yacht Club all in Green Lake; Bridge Club and River Hurst Garden Club in Mt. Prospect, IL; and the Grand Haven Golf Course in Palm Coast, FL.

Sylvia is survived by her husband of 60 years, Donald; 2 daughters, Valerie Froehlicher of Gurnee, IL, and Elizabeth (Richard) Bastasic of Sheboygan, WI; 3 grandchildren, Michael and Daniel Holland, Alex Bastasic; 2 great-grandchildren, Hayden and Emori Holland; 6 brothers; 1 sister; and further survived by nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Shirley Dukes, and infant twin siblings, Fay and Ray Church.

A visitation for Sylvia will be held from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 22, 2017, at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, 530 Ruth Street, Green Lake, WI, 54941.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Sylvia will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 22, 2017, at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, with Father Philip Krogman officiating. Interment with full military honors will follow at Dartford Cemetery in Green Lake. Memorials in Sylvia’s name may be made to the American Legion, 518 Water Street, Green Lake, WI, 54941.
