Sylvester “Sy” Adamski, Jr., age 65, of Ripon, passed away on Wednesday, January 25, 2017, at his home.
Sy was born in Ripon on May 31, 1951, the son of Sylvester, Sr. and Joanne (Morris) Adamski. He graduated from Ripon High School in 1969. On June 30, 1994, he married Peggy Washkovick in Las Vegas, NV, and in November of 1994 their marriage was blessed at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Ripon. Sy was a well driller and plumber, a semi driver, and most recently a bakery driver for Webster’s Marketplace in Ripon. He was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, a 4th degree member of Knights of Columbus in Fond du Lac, as well as a treasurer for Knights of Columbus in Ripon. Sy was also a treasurer for St. Vincent De Paul, Fond du Lac Chapter. He enjoyed playing bass guitar and loved his time with his dog, Cosmo.
Sy is survived by his wife, Peggy; a daughter Melissa “Missy” Adamski of Ripon, WI; two grandsons, Jordan Weinkauf and Austyn Rodensal; his mother, Joanne Adamski of Ripon, WI; sisters, Jane (Ben) Rudert of LaCrescent, MN, Dianne (Bruce) Bodi of Las Vegas, NV, Suzanne “Suzy” (Stuart) Thayer of Pickett, WI; mother-in-law, Josephine Washkovick of Ripon, WI; a brother-in-law, Roger Washkovick of Ripon, WI; a special cousin, Paul Wesolek of Ripon, WI; and his best buddy, Cosmo. He is further survived by other cousins; nieces; nephews; aunts; and uncles and friends. Sy is preceded in death by his father, Sylvester Adamski, Sr.; his maternal and paternal grandparents; father-in-law, Raymond Washkovick, Sr.; a brother-in-law, Raymond “Tiny” Washkovick, Jr.; many aunts; uncles; cousins; and friends.
A visitation for Sy will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 pm on Tuesday, January 31, 2017, at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Drive, Ripon, WI, 54971, and again from 10:00 – 11:00 am on Wednesday, February 1, 2017, at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 228 Blossom St., Ripon, WI, 54971.
A Memorial Mass for Sy will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, February 1, 2017, at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, with Reverend Robert A. Fictum officiating. Inurnment will follow at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in the Town of Ripon. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Green Lake Animal Shelter, N6217 Busse Rd, Green Lake, WI, 54941, or St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Ripon.
