Shirley D. Riviers

Shirley D. Riviers, age 90, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Monday, May 1, 2023 at Whispering Pines Nursing Home in Ripon with her family by her side.

Shirley was born in Ripon on November 11, 1932, daughter of Ralph and Edith (Crump) Krause. She graduated from Ripon High School in 1952. On April 7, 1956, she married James Riviers. Shirley was a proud farm wife and helped in many ways on the family farm. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, and the Christian Women’s Society in Ripon. Shirley loved and collected giraffes, and also loved her cows, horses, and other pets. She enjoyed watching WWE in her spare time.

Survivors include her children, Cindy (Gary) Berger of Ripon, WI, Michael (Carrie) Riviers of Poplar Grove, IL, and Lissa Riviers of Ripon, WI; several grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces; and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Riviers; a son, Robert Riviers; parents, Ralph and Edith Krause; a brother, Lionel Krause; sister and brother-in-law, Delores and Buddy Schultz; and in-laws, Alexander W. and Gertrude Riviers.   

Visitation for Shirley will be held on Saturday, May 13, 2023 from 9:00 until 10:30 am at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Dr., Ripon, WI 54971.

Funeral service for Shirley will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, May 13, 2023 at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon, with Fr. Jim Leary, OFM Cap officiating.  Interment will follow at Loper Cemetery, Town of Ripon, WI.
