Shirley Manthe, age 81, of Green Lake, passed away on Saturday, September 11, 2010.
Shirley was born September 26, 1928, in Baraboo, Wisconsin to Walter and Frances (DeGroff) Paske. She attended DeForest High School and attended college at Columbia County Teacher College. Shirley married Robert Harvey Manthe on December 11, 1946, at Eastside Lutheran in Madison, WI. She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church, of Green Lake, and she enjoyed music, bird watching, playing bridge, sewing, quilting, cooking shows, and gardening. Shirley also enjoyed spending time with her family and attending family outings. Shirley was active in many organizations at Zion Lutheran Church, Leeds and Zion Lutheran Church, Columbus, WI.
Shirley Manthe is survived by her six children, Byron (Kim) of Mansfield, TX, Cathy (John) Stangl of Beaver Dam, WI, Warren (companion Surachat) of Thailand, Janeen (Chuck) Bath of Horicon, WI, Connie (Doug) Feuling of Green Lake, WI, and Alan (Lisa) of Beaver Dam, WI, grandchildren; Kelly, Kerry (Jerry), Ryan (Laura), Kurt, Allison (Steve), Andrea (Matt), Carmen, Lauren, Meredith, and Joshua (fiance Morgan), great-grandchildren; Avery, Lily, Jade, Meg, Mae, Cora, Adelyne, Elynora, Aubryana, Iviayn, Forrest, Nolan, and Charlee; brother; Fritz Paske, and 3 sisters; Bev (Richard) Busse, Mona (Ken) Bertoli, and Donna Hoffman; one brother-in-law; Marvin Manthe, 3 sisters-in-law; Lorraine (Harland) Hartman, Carol (Harland) Hebel, and June (Kenny) Gilbertson. She is survived by many nieces and nephews. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Robert in 2007, sister-in-law, Bev Paske, and brother-in-law, Robert Hoffman, and grandson, Robert Christian Feuling.
Memorial service for Shirley Manthe will be held on Saturday, September 18, 2010 at 12:30 pm, at Peace Lutheran Church in Green Lake, WI, Reverend Rodney E. Dietsche will be officiating. A time of reflection for Shirley Manthe will follow the service until 3:00 pm on Saturday, September 18, 2010 at Peace Lutheran Church in Green Lake, WI. Inurnment will be at Zion Cemetery, Leeds, WI at a later date.
