Shirley May Baker, age 99, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Thursday, March 4, 2021 at Prairie Place Assisted Living.
Shirley was born March 25, 1921, the daughter of John and Carrie (Johnson) Madsen. In June 1949, she married James Baker in Chicago, IL. Shirley received her Masters Degree from National Lewis University in Chicago, IL and was an elementary school teacher at Holmes Elementary School in Oak Park, IL for 35 years.
Survivors include her nieces, Heidi Iselin of Willow Springs, IL, Susie Iman of Denver, CO and Anne (Joe) O’Brien of Carlsbad, CA; and nephews, Fritz (Barbara) Iselin of Jacksonville, FL and Don Iselin of Denver, CO. Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, James Baker; and nephew, John Iselin.
In keeping with Shirley’s wishes, there will be no formal service. A very special and heartfelt thank you to Shirley’s friend and caregiver, Pam Lang, the staff at Prairie Place RCAC and Agnesian Hospice Hope. The family would appreciate anyone wishing to make a contribution in Shirley’s memory to do so to the Caestecker Public Library, P.O. Box 278, 518 Hill St., Green Lake, WI 54941.
