Russell William Werth

Russell William Werth, age 70, of Fairwater, WI, passed away on Monday, April 17th, 2023 at Eden Vista in Ripon.

Russell was born on December 18th, 1952, in Beaver Dam, WI, son of William and Clara (Davison) Werth. He graduated from Markesan High School in 1971. After high school, Russell joined the Navy for a brief period. On December 18th, 1978, he had his first child with his then girlfriend, Danette Sebastian (Strahota). He spent time working at the Co-Op, which is where he met Cindy Hayes. On February 14th, 1981, he married Cindy at Zion Lutheran Church in Fairwater, a place that has been special to the Werth family for many years. Together, they share three children.

Russell loved the outdoors, from early on. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, and working on cars, especially his 1968 Cuda. One could often find him outside working on a car. He loved working with his hands. He also loved to read, especially mysteries. Russell loved to challenge his mind. He instilled a love of reading and learning in his children and grandchildren.

Russell is survived by his wife, Cindy of 42 years, of Markesan, WI; his children, Carissa (Doug) Gray of West Bend, WI, Michael Werth (fiancé Amlie), Matthew Werth, and Brenda Sifore, all three of Fairwater, WI; seven of his 10 sisters, Deacon Pam Werth, Sandy Stieber (Chris), Marion Herron, Cindy Werth-Pullyard, Holly Cotton (Toby), Karen Werth, and Georgia Trochinski (Mark); several grandchildren, Joseph, Ethan, Zachariah, Avery, Dorian, Spencer, Kaylee, and Claralynn; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was proceeded in death by his parents; sisters Deborah Hammond, Lisa Werth and Mary Werth; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A memorial service for Russell will be held on Saturday, April 29th, 2023, starting with a luncheon at 1:30pm and service to follow at 3pm at Soldiers and Sailors Park, W1996 Hwy 44, Markesan, WI 53946. The family asks that you dress casually and if you choose, bring a dish to pass.
