Rosetta Erickson-Koehler

Rosetta (nee Giebel) Erickson-Koehler, age 77, formerly of Poy Sippi and Ripon, passed away on Monday, January 28, 2013, at Warm Springs Specialty Hospital in Victoria, TX.
She was born on February 12, 1935, in Fond du Lac, the daughter of Alfred and Mildred (Engelhardt) Giebel. Rose attended and graduated from St. Mary Springs in 1952 and Marian College in 1956 with a bachelor degree in education. She taught in a one-room school in the Fond du Lac area.
Rosetta married Lawrence Erickson on August 22, 1961. They spent the next 39 years raising seven children until his death in 2001. Rose worked as a teacher, bus driver, truck driver and seamstress over the years. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, camping, music and spending time with family and friends. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, most recently attending in Fond du Lac. Rose married Orville Koehler on July 22, 2006. They were wintering in Texas at the time of her death.
Rose is survived by husband, Orville; children, Roy (Tammy) of Brandon, Lester (Jenny) of Ripon, Roseanne (Tom) Weeks of Brandon, Darlene Wilson of Fond du Lac, Millie (Mike) Kralovetz of Green Bay, Joe (Lisa) of Ripon; thirteen grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and many step-children, step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren and nine brothers and sisters, Norb (Sally) Giebel of Eldorado, Helen Giebel of Rockford, IL, John (Joyce) Giebel of St. Cloud, Ruth Piehl of Eldorado, Ambrose (Ruth Ann) Giebel of Eldorado, Ida (Terry) Campbell of Warrens, Eugene Giebel of Eldorado, Bernard (Vicky) Giebel of Eldorado and Anna Giebel of Waupun and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, Larry; son, Eugene; two grandchildren, Joshua and Cassandra and brother, Jerome.
Visitation for Rose will be held on Saturday, February 16, 2013, from 2 – 3:00 pm at Hillside Assembly Church, 656 W. Oshkosh St., Ripon, WI 54971.
Memorial service for Rose will be held on Saturday, February 16, 2013, 3:00 pm at Hillside Assembly Church in Ripon. Reverend Donald Deike will officiate. Inurnment will take place at Poy Sippi Cemetery in Village of Poy Sippi at a later date. A memorial is being established.
