Rose Marie Buchholz, age 83, of Ripon, passed away on Saturday, September 6, 2008, at Michalene’s in Ripon.
Rose was born on April 8, 1925, in Fond du Lac, the daughter of Edward C. and Gertrude L. (Meyer) Wilhelms. She attended school in Fond du Lac, and on January 25, 1943, she married Earl August Buchholz. They moved to Ripon in 1946, and later worked as a sewing machine operator at Admanco in Ripon. Rose was a member of Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ in Ripon, the Lioness Club for 15 years and Tail Twister, as well as being Mrs. Santa for 30 years.
Survivors include her son, Earl (Marva) Buchholz Jr. of El Cajon, CA, a daughter, Sharon (Roger) Poblitz of Wausau; three grandchildren, Ampy (Ruth) Buchholz of Portland, OR, Michelle (Jesse) Bornfleth of Wausau, Melanie Holtz of Wausau; three great-grandchildren, Evan Holtz, Chloe Holtz, and Ayslinn Buchholz; two sisters, Mary Ann Woicek, and Helen Martin, and two brothers, Lester and Frank of all of Fond du Lac. Rose was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one infant daughter, Susan Carol; five sisters, Dorothy Wood, Bernice Floyd, June Haganau, Ruth Steinmetz, and Johanna Rheinhold; and three brothers, Earl, Bob, and Bill Wilhelms.
Visitation for Rose Buchholz will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Tuesday, September 9, 2008, at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon, and again from 10:00 until the time of the service on Wednesday, September 10, 2008, at Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ in Ripon.
Funeral Service for Rose Buchholz will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, September 10, 2008, at Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ in Ripon, with the Reverend Mark R. West officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ripon. Memorials can be given to the American Cancer Society.
