Ronnie W. Shinall, age 81, of Markesan, WI, passed away on Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at ThedaCare Hospital in Neenah, WI.

Ronnie was born in Crittenden, Kentucky on July 7, 1942, son of Spurlin and Mary (Wheeler) Shinall. He graduated high school continued his education at Indiana State University. He went on to serve our country in the U.S. Marines which he was very proud of being. Ronnie married Susan Mayer Geerts on May 14, 1994 in Peoria, IL. Ronnie was a devoted member of Federated Church of Green Lake, where he held various positions and also sang in the choir. He enjoyed woodworking and loved making things for his family and friends which range from making beds to cribbage boards to small wooden toys for his grandchildren. He also loved to fish, and had a passion for Green Lake. More than anything he loved spending time with his family and friends .  He always had a positive attitude and  a smile on his face To end a day he and his wife would sit outside and enjoy a cigar (Ron) and cocktail. He always said it does not get any better than this. Ron was a giant of a man and very blessed as we very blessed in his presence.

Ronnie is survived by his wife of nearly 30 years, Susan Geerts Shinall of Markesan, WI; children, Greg Shinall and Robin (Hagan) Shinall, Jeff Shinall and Maureen Rowley Shinall, Kelly Geerts and Stacey Mitchell, Benjamin Geerts and Julie Villagomez Geerts; grandchildren,  T. Shinall, Kyle Shinall, Tara Shinall, Lauren Geerts, Tyler Geerts, Vivian Shinall, Lauren Shinall , Paige Shinall and Solana Geerts; siblings, Doyle and MaryLou Shinall; sister & brother-in-law, James & Christine (Mayer) Pritchett; and several cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Spurlin and Mary Shinall.

A time of reflection will be held from 10:00 -11:00 am, followed by a memorial service at 11:00 am on Saturday, February 17, 2024 at Federated Church of Green Lake, with Rev. Karen Gygax Rodriguez officiating. A final salute and full military honors will take place at the church immediately following the service. Memorials may be directed to the music program at Federated Church of Green Lake.
