Ronald Sina

February 22, 1951 — January 6, 2020

“Do a random act of kindness for someone every day”. That is the legacy that Ronald Sina, 68, of Ripon, WI left for his family and friends to carry on. Ronald passed away on January 6, 2020 at his winter home in Apollo Beach, FL, after a long battle with pancreatic cancer.

Ron, the son of Loraine and Edward Sina, was born on Feb. 22, 1951 at St. Agnes Hospital, Fond du Lac, WI. Ron graduated from Ripon High School in 1969 and Moraine Park Technical College in 1999. At the age of 26, he purchased Lela’s Beverage Mart in Redgranite, WI. Following the sale of the liquor store 10 years later and after a few short term jobs, he accepted employment at Alliance Laundry Systems in Ripon, WI where he worked for 25 years.

Ron was a role model for his two children and four grandchildren who adored him. Ron would make his grandchildren’s birthdays extra special by having scavenger hunts, hiding money or creating other inventive games. Ron enjoyed coaching little league baseball, designing a new haunted house every year for the Ripon Kiwanis Club, playing pickleball, golfing and cheering on his two children and four grandchildren at their sporting events. In addition, Ron was an avid gardener, taught drafting for Alliance Laundry, was a Cub Master, fireman, first responder, EMT, a volunteer at food pantries in Ripon and Ruskin, Florida and a volunteer for his cousin, Father Wally Kasuboski in Panama, where he designed church windows, helped build churches, bridges, a bell tower, a school, and a dam to provide clean water for the people of Panama. Ron was a devoted Catholic and a member of the St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Ripon, WI.

Ron is survived by his wife of 46 years, Connie (Swed); two children James (Sara) Sina and Anne (Christopher) Schilder both of Germantown, WI; four grandchildren Evan and Julia Sina, Samuel and Claudia Schilder; three brothers, Daniel, John and Kenneth; one sister, Dorothy (Thomas) Soda and mother-in-law Mary (Rowe) Swed. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Loraine (Bouton) Sina; brother, Joseph; and father-in-law, Morris Swed.

Ron will be remembered as a helpful, kind, generous, hardworking man who never knew a stranger or a problem he couldn’t solve. He had a big smile that would brighten even the darkest days. His love of life was evident to all who knew him. Ron left his life on Earth with no regrets.
The Sina family extends their utmost gratitude to the medical, nursing and professional staff of the LifePath Hospice Care team of Ruskin, FL.
