Ronald “Ron” Edgar Bradley, age 83, of Ripon, WI, went peacefully to his heavenly home on Saturday, February 25, 2023 surrounded by the love of his family.

Ron was born February 4, 1940 at Oshkosh Mercy Hospital to Edgar H. and Isabelle L. (Clute) Bradley of Pickett, WI. He graduated from Ripon High School in 1958, and went on to serve our country as a member of the United States Army Reserves from 1957 to 1965, serving 6 months of active duty from June to December 1958. On June 30, 1962, Ron married Ruth Holterman at Grace Lutheran Church in Pickett, WI, where they were members. He was a rural mail carrier in Pickett and was with the United States Postal Service for 32 years, retiring in 1995. Ron lived his entire life in Pickett until moving to N. Fort Myers, FL in 1996. He lived there for 16 years, and then moved to Ripon in 2011.

Ron was very active in both athletics and in his community. Over his lifetime, he was involved in many organizations including: Grace Lutheran Church Council, Ripon Lion’s Club, Pickett Lion’s Club, and he was a member of the Winnebago County Rural Letter Carriers’ Association. Ron was also a volunteer at Ripon Medical Center, supervisor for the Town of Utica for 16 years, and a charter member of the Town of Utica Fire Department. Ron loved playing sports and participated in leagues for softball, tennis, bowling and shuffleboard. In his downtime, Ron enjoyed following the Packers, Brewers, Badgers, Red Hawks and Tigers.

Ron is survived by his children, David (Alice) Bradley of New Market, MD, Steve (Shelly) Bradley of Waupaca, WI and Kathi (Dean) Luker of Ripon, WI; a very special and precious granddaughter, Lily Jean Bradley; brothers and sisters, Richard (Deanna) Bradley of Pickett, WI, Margaret Tigert of Oshkosh, WI, Edgar (Mary) Bradley of Pickett, WI, Kenneth (Jane) Bradley of Appleton, WI, Lila (Dan) Jerabek of Ripon, and Nancy (John) Lieske of Oshkosh, WI; sisters and brothers-in-law; Joan and Ken Fude of Rosendale, WI; Susan and Bill Krueger of New Berlin, WI, Rudy Hernandez of Hayward, CA and Sandy Koenig of N. Fort Myers, FL. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. Ron was preceded in death by his loving wife of 58 years, Ruth Bradley; parents, Edgar and Isabelle Bradley; sister, Sharon Bradley; brothers-in-law, James Tigert, Gilbert Pitt, David Holterman, William Shafer, Joe Koenig and Tom McCann; and sisters-in-law, Barbara Shafer, Mary McCann, Kay Hernandez, Wanda Pitt and Doris Holterman.

A visitation for Ron will be held on Monday, March 6, 2023 from 4 – 7:00 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Dr., Ripon, WI 54971 and again on Tuesday, March 7, 2023 from 10 – 11:00 am at Grace Lutheran Church, 502 County Rd. M, Pickett, WI 54964.

A funeral service for Ron will be held on Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at 11:00 am at Grace Lutheran Church in Pickett, WI, with Pastor Jud Krohn officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name may be directed to: Grace Lutheran Church, 502 County Rd. M, Pickett, WI 54964 or Green Lake Area Animal Shelter, N6217 Busse Drive, Green Lake, WI 54941.
