Ronald James Bayer, age 72, of Green Lake, WI, passed away Monday, January 27, 2020, at ThedaCare Medical Center Berlin.
Ronald was born July 11, 1947, in Racine, WI, the son of Raymond and Virginia (Jude) Bayer. He graduated from St. Catherines High School and went on to serve our country in the United States Air National Guard from 1967 to 1972. On March 8, 1986, Ronald married Carol Luedke in Green Lake. He and Carol owned and operated Piggly Wiggly grocery store in Ripon. Ronald was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Ripon, was on the Board of Directors for the Catholic Church and a member of the Kiwanis Club. Ronald's favorite past times were hunting, fishing, playing cards and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Carol Bayer of Green Lake, WI; son, Brian (Rose) Bayer of Menomonee Falls, WI; daughter, Kimberly Scoville of Ripon, WI; sons, Kevin (Tammy) Bayer of Cedar Rapids, IA, Stephen (Tricia) Bayer of Green Lake, WI, Kelly (Christine) Florek of Colorado Springs, CO and daughter, Kari Florek of Appleton, WI; eight grandchildren, Justin (Carly) Bayer and Courtney Bayer both of Menomonee Falls, WI, Alyssa Scoville of the Middlebury Institute in Monterey, CA and Kaitlyn Scoville of Ripon, WI, Gabriella Bayer of Cedar Rapids, IA, Aspen Bayer of Green Lake, WI, Bailey Florek of the University of Louisville, KY and Nina Florek of Colorado Springs, CO. Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Richard and Raymond Bayer and sister, Patricia Murphy.
Visitation for Ronald will be held on Thursday, February 13, 2020, from 4 6:00 pm, at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Dr., Ripon, WI 54971 and again on Friday, February 14, 2020, from 10:30 - 11:30 am at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 228 E. Blossom St., Ripon, WI 54971.
Memorial Mass for Ronald will be held on Friday, February 14, 2020, at 11:30 am at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Ripon with Reverend Robert A. Fictum officiating. A Final Salute with Military Funeral Honors will follow. Inurnment will take place at a later date at Green Lake Center Cemetery in the Town of Green Lake. A memorial is being established in his name.
