Rodney G. Zimdars, age 64, of Garland, Texas, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 12, 2018 following unexpected medical complications.
He was born on February 15, 1954 to Gordon W. and W. Lois (Tavs) Zimdars in Ripon, WI. He attended Ripon schools throughout high school graduation. He went on and attended the University of Wisconsin in Madison and transferred to the Milwaukee School of Engineering where he completed his engineering degree.
Rodney had a passion for the development of hardware and software computer technology. This interest coupled with his engineering background landed him employment with Texas Instruments (TI) directly out of college. During his 6 year tenure with TI he lived in Vicksburg, Mississippi, Princeton, New Jersey and Austin, Texas. While in Austin, Rodney transferred to Geophysical Services, Inc. (GSI) the parent company of Texas Instruments and moved to Dallas, Texas. During his 9 years with GSI Rodney traveled globally to Venezuela, Australia and China, where he was able to accompany his wife, Patricia who was also working for GSI as a corporate trainer with the Petroleum Corporation for the Peoples Republic of China. For the past 21 years Rodney has been employed by EMC, now known as Dell-EMC where he was a Customer Service Engineer.
Rodney is survived by his wife of 30 years, Patricia; his sister, Cheryl (Robert) Schrader of Adams, WI; his brother Dean (Gloria) Zimdars of Oshkosh, WI; nieces: Kylie (Justin) Dahmer and their children of Milwaukee, WI; Tamra Schrader and her children of Dallas, Texas; nephew: Zachary Zimdars of Oshkosh, WI. He is also survived by many other relatives and numerous friends, colleagues and people whose lives he deeply touched and left an indelible imprint of love within their hearts. November 12, 2018 will always mark the passing of one of the worlds most compassionate and generous human beings to ever walk the face of this Earth.
A brief visitation for Rodney has been arranged at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home for Sunday, November 18, 2018 at 2:00 pm. Interment will take place at Brandon Cemetery in the Village of Brandon on Monday, November 19, 2018 at 2:00 pm, where he will rest next to his parents and recently deceased sister, Rosemary.
