Roberta A. Grams, age 84, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Thursday, August 3, 2017, at her home.
Roberta “Bobby” was born in Fort Sheridan, IL, on February 3, 1933, the daughter of Col. Duke E. and Elsie (Zinzow) Jones. She graduated from Ripon High School, where she played cymbals in the high school band. Bobby worked as a nurse's aide at Parkview Nursing Home in Ripon. In her younger years she was a telephone operator, and also worked at Ripon Knitting Works. Bobby loved her family, animals of all sorts, the Packers, drawing, and the Peanuts characters. She was an “Army Brat” and traveled a lot. She really enjoyed the south; Fort Benning, Georgia, and Texas most of all, and actually had teeth pulled across from The Alamo.
Bobby is survived by her children, Terry (Lynn) Mathias of Ripon, Sharon (Rick) Grams of Monticello, IA, Tom (Jackie) Grams of Green Lake, Judy (Keith) Knepfel of Green Lake, Mike (Chris) Grams of Ripon, Beth Grams of Green Lake, Terry Timmons of Ripon; and her best friend, Charles Dickens “Charlie” the cat. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Tracy (Ron), Tiffany (Bob), Jacob Buck, Jeremiah, Corey (Savanaha), Calvin, Chad (Maureen), Kurt, Bill (Bayley), Alex, Joey, Caitlin (Nick), and Marshall; great-grandchildren: Payton, Drew, Adam, Jaden, Kellen, Tristan, and Adella; special friends, Nancy Mills, Rosanne Bresser, and Eileen Nicholson; many nieces, nephews, other extended family, and friends.
Bobby is preceded in death by her parents, Duke and Elsie; a son, John Grams; granddaughter, Fawn Marie Grams; grandson, Aaron Mathias; brother, Duke Jones; sister, Jeanne Jones; former spouse, Arlyn Grams; son-in-law, Dave Bryden, father-in-law, Alfred Grams; mother-in-law, Dorothy Grams; and a sister-in-law, Donna Jones.
A visitation for Bobby will be held from 10:00 am to 11:30 am on Tuesday, August 8, 2017, at The Federated Church of Green Lake, 489 Scott St., Green Lake, WI, 54941.
A Memorial Service for Bobby will be held at 11:30 am on Tuesday, August 8, 2017, at The Federated Church of Green Lake, with Reverend Karen Gygax Rodriguez officiating. A memorial is being established in her name.
