Robert Shattuck

Robert Louis Shattuck, age 74, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Friday, October 22, 2021, at his home surrounded by his family.
Bob was born May 9, 1947, in Janesville, WI, the son of William Richard and Berniece Elizabeth (Yandry) Shattuck. He married Ellen Greenhalgh at St. William Church in Janesville, WI in 1970. Bob was a teacher for his entire career in the Rosendale/Brandon School District. Bob had a passion for blues and 60’s rock ‘n roll and successfully passed down his love of very loud live music to his children. He loved to go for rides in his Jeep and found mowing the lawn to be relaxing. Bob was into running before that was a popular pastime and he also had a love of cycling. He even fulfilled his dream of seeing the end of the Tour de France in person, which he and Ellen attended during their 25th anniversary trip to France. Bob also had a heart for serving others, which he was able to do through volunteering his time at the Ripon Food Pantry at St. Catherine’s for more than 8 years. He absolutely adored his three grandchildren, who lovingly called him “Bop”.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Ellen Shattuck of Ripon; sons, Steven and Michael Shattuck both of Ripon; daughter, Alison (Stephen) Dawson of Chicago, IL; granddaughters, Elizabeth and Evangeline Dawson; grandson, Joseph Dawson; sister, Ruth Shattuck Sykes of Savannah, GA; brothers-in-law, Michael Greenhalgh and Mark (Amy) Greenhalgh both of Madison, WI; sisters-in-law, Kathy (Jim) Seidel of Wausau, WI and Mary (Jim) Gage of Waterloo, WI; and many dear nieces and nephews. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, William and Berniece Shattuck; brother-in-law, Leonard Sykes, Jr.; and sister-in-law, Mary Greenhalgh.
A visitation for Bob will be held on Friday, November 5, 2021, from 2 – 4:00 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Dr., Ripon, WI 54971.
A memorial service for Bob will be held on Friday, November 5, 2021, at 4:00 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, with Rev. Davies Edassery officiating.
Per Bob’s wishes, his family requests that visitors follow a “no suits or ties” rule and dress casually for his visitation and service. A private family inurnment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Bob’s name may be directed to the Ripon Education Foundation, P.O. Box 395, Ripon, WI 54971.
