Richard L. Turner, age 77, of Ripon, WI, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, February 11, 2026 at his home.
Richard was born in Middleboro, MA on June 28, 1948, son of Russell and Sarah (Levis) Turner. He graduated from Middleboro High School, and went on to serve our country in the U.S. Army. He was a Life Member of the VFW. On August 13, 2005 he married Jeanne (Dott) Bryant in Ripon, and immediately became part of her family. Richard worked as a machinist for Butkiewicz & Sons in Omro for over 40 years. In his free time Richard enjoyed gardening, reading a good book, and putting together Legos. He was part of a coffee group that met at McDonald’s in the morning to solve the world’s problems. He will be missed.
Richard is survived by his wife, Jeanne Turner of Ripon, WI; step-children, Joshua (Cara) Bryant of Oshkosh, WI and Jaime (Daniel) Velie of Greenville, WI; step-grandchildren, Alexander, Samantha, and Maddalyn Bryant, and Colton and Blake Velie; mother-in-law, Gerry Dott of Sun Prairie, WI; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Sarah Turner; two brothers, George and James Turner; and a sister, Barbara (Wayne) Grahn.
A Celebration of Life for Richard will be held on Friday, March 6, 2026 at 11:00 am at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Dr., Ripon, WI 54971. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until the time of the service. Inurnment will follow at at Woodlawn Cemetery, Ripon, WI. A memorial is being established in his name.
