Richard Dusty C. Johnson, age 93, of Green Lake, WI, passed away on Monday, February 1, 2021 at ThedaCare Medical Center in Berlin, WI.
Dusty was born on November 18, 1927 in Marengo, IL, the son of Joe and Alma (Cranford) Johnson. After high school he went on to serve our country in the U.S. Army from 1946-1947. In 1949 he married Jacqueline Widmayer in Genoa, IL, and they were married nearly 66 years before she passed away. Dusty worked as a carpenter in the Green Lake area for many years. He enjoyed watching basketball, most of all the Chicago Bulls, and also taking the train to Chicago to watch White Sox games. He had a passion for fishing and loved to take Jackie on fishing trips with him, openly admitting that she was a better angler than he was. He also enjoyed reading mystery books and putting together jigsaw puzzles. Most of all he cherished his wife, Jackie, and the time they spent together.
Dusty is survived by an older sister; nieces; nephews; and very special friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Alma Johnson; and his loving wife, Jackie Johnson.
There will be no funeral service for Dusty. Inurnment will take place at Dartford Cemetery. Memorials in his name may be made to the Caestecker Public Library, 518 Hill St., Green Lake, WI 54941.
