Ralph Douglas Quinney, age 79 of Ripon, WI, passed away on Saturday, December 5, 2015, at the University of Wisconsin Madison Hospital.
Ralph was born, June 4, 1936, in Elkhorn, WI, the son of Floyd and Alice (Holloway) Quinney. He graduated from Delavan High School. Ralph graduated from the Universities of Wisconsin Whitewater and Marquette with a master’s degree. Ralph went on to serve our country in the United States Army Reserves. On October 7, 1961, Ralph married Lois Ann Houk in Oconomowoc, WI. In 2000, after 37 years of service, Ralph retired from M&I Bank; formerly the Ripon State Bank. Ralph was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Ripon, WI, the Ripon United Way Foundation, Knights of Columbus and Holy Name Society. He was a member of the Santa Club of Ripon, Ripon Area Food Pantry, Ripon Rotary, Town of Ripon Planning and Zoning Committee and the Ripon Educational Foundation. Ralph was on the Board of Directors for Russell Manor in Ripon and the Ripon Historical Society as well.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Lois Quinney of Ripon, WI; children, Kathleen (Joe) Merrill also of Ripon, Karen (Kevin) Kleinschmidt of Merrill, WI, Kay (Eric) Quinney-Burnard of Lockport, IL, Kelly Quinney of Brookfield, WI, Bill (Corina) Quinney of Tucson, AZ, Kasey (Michael) Holland of Ripon, WI, Kimberly (Toby) Quinney of Lombard, IL; grandchildren, Theresa Merrill, Allison (David) Rodriguez, Jacob Merrill, Travis (Megan) Kleinschmidt, Lucas, and Kyle Kleinschmidt, Amber (Chris Stapelfeldt) Prellwitz, Amanda Prellwitz, Cavin Burnard, Christopher and Tamera Holland, Quin Rock, Ryan and Evan Quinney; great grandson, Jeremy Schantner; brother, Earl Richard (Solveig) Quinney of Madison, WI; sister-in-law, Marian Pastors of West Bend, WI and two brothers-in-law, Dennis Houk of Racine, WI and Jim (Cheryl) Houk of Oconomowoc, WI. He is further survived by many nieces and nephews. Ralph is preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Alice Quinney.
Visitation for Ralph Douglas Quinney will be held on Friday, December 11, 2015, from 3 – 6:00 p.m. at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 218 Blossom St., Ripon, WI 54971.
Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, December 11, 2015, at 6:00 p.m. at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Ripon, Blossom St. Reverend Robert A. Fictum and Father Jerome Pastors will officiate. Inurnment will take place at St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery in the Town of Ripon at a later date. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established.
