Phyllis Norma Kielisch, 96, passed into the arms of her Savior on Thursday, August 17th 2022, with family by her side.
Phyllis was born June 4, 1926 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to Raymond and Gladys Schaal. She met Carl Kielisch while earning her bachelor’s degree at UW Madison and they later married on June 24, 1949. She was a devoted mother to Claudia, Melody and Kurt.
Throughout their life together Phyllis helped her husband in their business, worked as photographer and news reporter for the News Graphic in Grafton, Wisconsin, taught sewing and tailoring at Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC) as well as home skills to students with disabilities. They raised their family in Wisconsin, living in various cities such as Milwaukee, Grafton, Sheboygan and Ripon. She loved traveling with her family, sewing, and gardening, and many will remember her love for singing with her beautiful voice.
Phyllis is survived by her children, Claudia (Bob) Thom, Melody (Giorgio) Aristo, and Kurt (Jean) Kielisch. In addition, she was blessed with grandchildren Jason (Julie) Thom, Sahnya Thom (partner Anna Avina), Joslyn Calegari (nee Thom)(partner David Dolata) , Alicia Thom, Anina (Karl) Reinhart (nee Thom), Erik Kielisch, Kaleb (Scotia) Kielisch, Heidi (Matt) Brockman (nee Kielisch); great grandchildren Spencer Thom, Madalyn Thom, Tahlia Callegari, Calista Callegari, Evenlyn Reinhart, Fiona Reinhart, Annika Brockman, Claire Brockman, Elijah Brockman, Hannah Brockman; and great-great granddaughter Saskia Floyd . She is also survived by her brothers Grant (Marilyn) Schaal and Dennis (Barbara) Schaal, nephew and Godson Greg (Barbara) Schaal (Clayton, Grace and Grant) and niece Deanna Schaal.
She spent the last several years at Copperleaf Senior Living in Ripon, Wisconsin, and the family would like to thank the staff for their love and care for Phyllis.
Visitation for Phyllis will be held on Monday, August 22, 2022, from 2:00 until 3:00 pm, at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Dr., Ripon, WI 54971.
Funeral service for Phyllis will be held at 3:00 pm on Monday, August 22, 2022 at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon, with Rev. Paul Nulton officiating. Interment will follow at Dartford Cemetery, Green Lake, WI.
