Patricia Pat Ann Hess, age 74, of Ripon, passed away peacefully with friends by her side on Wednesday, February 24, 2016, at Prairie Place Assisted Living.
She was born on September 8, 1941 in Berlin, WI, the daughter of Theodore and Joan (Armatowski) Polly and Helmuth Kerl, her step-father.
Through the years Pat worked for many places among them were Heidel House, Sears, Ripon Community Credit Union and she retired from Magnum Products in Berlin. Pat was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Green Lake. She loved to read and volunteered as a reader at a local assisted living center. Pat also had a real soft spot in her heart for animals, especially her many beloved dogs.
Pat is survived by her daughter, Julie (Tom) Bowker of Lake St. Louis, MO; her son, Matthew Smith of Princeton, WI, his significant other, Dawn Shaw; two grandchildren, Kathleen Smith of Ripon and Cody (Natasha) Smith of Reeseville, WI; her sister Lorraine (Jim) Paulissen of West Chicago, IL and brother Rich Kerl of Racine, WI; her former mother in law, Marcella Mom Smith of Ripon, WI, and step sons, Andrew Hess of Seattle, WA and Larry Hess of Madison, WI. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many, many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ted Polly and Joan Kerl and her step father, Hank Kerl, daughters Christine and Susan Smith, husband Victor Hess, step-son, Ronald Hess, father of her children, Lloyd Smith Jr. and many, many beloved dogs.
Per Pats wishes there will be no services. Inurnment will take place at Green Lake Center (Center House) Cemetery at a later date. A Celebration of Life for her and her daughter, Christine will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2016 @ Adams Rib, 538 Mill Street, Green Lake, WI from 1:30 4:30 PM.
