Orion Fashun

Orion (Peters) Fashun, age 93, formerly of Ripon, WI, went to be with her Lord on December 10, 2010, at her home.
Orion was born on October 27, 1917, in Bryon, WI, the daughter of Herman and Della (Kuen) Peters. She was baptized, confirmed and married at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Brownsville, WI. Orion graduated from Fond du Lac High School and Fountain City Business College. She worked at McDermott Thornton Insurance Agency, Giddings and Lewis and A.H. Bluemke. On January 10, 1942, she married Vincent Fashun. When he was released from service on October 27, 1945 (her birthday), they moved to Ripon where they lived for many years. After retirement Orion enjoyed traveling, square dancing, fishing, cribbage and dominoes. She was a charter member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Ripon. Orion was a Sunday school teacher, served on the Altar Guild and with a group who made many quilts for Lutheran World Relief.
Survivors include three sons, Peter (Christine) Dart-Fashun of Fond du Lac, WI, Mark and Tim Fashun of Eldorado, WI; four loving grandchildren, Sarah Connole of MO, Rebecca Hickey of Fond du Lac, WI, Brian Dart of TX and Anthony Dart of FL; two great-grandchildren, Xavier Dart and Eliyas Hickey; life long friend Grace Hazlewood; three god children, Rosalie Luedtke, Mary Siegel and Judy Beyer; and many loving nieces, nephews and friends. Orion was preceded in death by her husband, parents, three sisters and one brother.
Visitation for Orion Fashun will be held on Monday, December 27, 2010, from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm at Messiah Lutheran Church, 500 Mayparty Dr. Ripon, WI 54971.
Memorial Service for Orion Fashun will be held on Monday, December 27, 2010, at 1:00 pm at Messiah Lutheran Church in Ripon with Reverend Bryan Fritsch officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date at Byron Cemetery in Byron, WI. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be given to Messiah Lutheran Church or the Salvation Army, 237 N. Macy St., Fond du Lac, WI 54935.
