Norma Elaine Coburn, age 82, of Markesan, WI was called to her heavenly home on Wednesday, May 7, 2025 at Markesan Resident Home.

Norma was born on September 27, 1942 in Waupun, WI, daughter of Bernice and Wilma (Baggett) Vis. She graduated from Waupun High School, class of 1960. On February 1, 1964 she married Thomas Coburn at St. Patrick Catholic Church (now St. Catherine of Siena) in Ripon, WI. Norma held various jobs over the years, including jobs in sewing, upholstery, cooking/catering, and most recently screen printing at Laser Excel in Green Lake, WI. She was also a volunteer fire fighter for Fairwater, WI, and won many championships in the water fighting barrel competitions. In her younger years Norma enjoyed playing softball. She loved time gardening, growing flowers, and growing and canning vegetables. She was involved in women’s and couple’s bowling leagues throughout her life. Norma also enjoyed camping with family, boating, board games, puzzles, feeding the birds, and playing card games, especially cribbage with her husband over coffee in the morning or a glass of wine at night. She cherished trips with her husband to Hawaii and especially Alaska, where they camped and fished for three months. Norma is recognized by those who knew her by her smile that lit up the room and her warm hugs.

Norma is survived by her children, Mary (Dan) Davison of Markesan, WI, Cynthia (Paul) Gunderson of Princeton, WI, Timothy (Jennifer) Coburn of Oak Creek, WI, and Lori (Jeremy Menke) Jensen of Markesan, WI; grandchildren, Lisa (Nate) Cichocki, Ryan (Aubrey) Pollesch, Josh (Natalia) Aeschliman, Justin Aeschliman, Jon Bock, Matthew Immel, Kayla (Dusty) Wedde, Rebecca (Kyle) Crews, Samantha Coburn, Courtney (Chris) Mace, Erin Coburn, Jake Coburn, Kristen (Jeff) Carlson and Elijah Menke; 14 great-grandchildren; six sisters, Frances Kalupa, Doris (Roger) Miller, Nancy (Dennis) Witthun, Linda Darnick, Arlene (Allen) Abel and Sally (Duane) Kok; a brother, Earl (Julie) Vis; numerous nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bernice and Wilma Vis; husband, Thomas Coburn; a son, Steven Coburn; sister, Marilyn Miller; brother, Barry Vis; son-in-law, Tom Pollesch; and brothers-in-law, Don Darnick and Bud Kalupa.

Visitation for Norma will be held from 3:00 pm until 5:00 pm on Friday, May 16, 2025 at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Dr., Ripon, WI 54971.

Memorial service for Norma will be held at 5:00 pm on Friday, May 16, 2025 at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon, with Rev. Karin Derenne officiating.
