Nancy Nash Stein was born at the home of her parents, Stuart B. Nash and Florence S. Nash on July 19, 1922. She died on Tuesday, April 25, 2000.
Nancy Nash Stein was raised in Ripon, and educated in the Ripon School System. She graduated from Kern per Hall Preparatory School in 1940, and from the Dennison University in 1944.
She was a lifelong member of the First Congregational Church of Ripon. She was a member and Past President of Ripon Womens Club, Ripon Study Club, and Ripon Library Association. She served on the Ripon Public Library Board of Trustees, and the Wau Bun Girl Scout Council Board of Directors. She enjoyed her summers sailing with the Senior Girls Fleet of the Green Lake Yacht Club.
Nancy Nash Stein is survived by her husband, Leonard Skip Stein; five children, Martha Becky (Gerald) Prellwitz, Nancy Nan Lindstrorn, Julie (Lyle) Mathias, John Stein, and Carrie (Dennis) Bartik; nine grandchildren, Heidi (Tom) Merkus, Robert (Amy) and Rebecca Prellwitz, Stuart and Daniel Berger, Andrew and Christopher Stein, Jennifer and Rachel Mathias; four great.grandchildren, Amanda, Megan, Elizabeth Merkus, and Sullivan Prellwitz. She is further survived by a brother-in-law, Arthur Carter and five nieces and one nephew. Nancy Nash Stein was preceded in death by her parents, and her sister, Mary Jesse Carter.
A Memorial service for Nancy N. Stein will be held at the First
Congregational Church of Ripon on Saturday, April 29, 2000 at 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, a Memorial has been established in her name for the Diabetic Association.
