Nancy Alice Hollerup, age 74, of Ripon, WI, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 27, 2022, at Prairie Place in Ripon.
Nancy was born in Ripon on May 17, 1947, the daughter of Darwin and Alice (Engel) Schleicher. She graduated from Ripon High School in 1965. Some of Nancys happiest moments surrounded her life-long delight in horses, and she took great pleasure in owning and riding her own horse in her younger years. She was chosen Miss Fond du Lac for 1966 and represented the city in the state contest for Miss Wisconsin, finishing in the top ten. A sparkling, brown-haired beauty, she enjoyed performing acrobatic dance routines. Nancy remained a faithful wife to Chris Hollerup, whom she married in 1977 until his death in 2020, and loved her children and grandchildren unconditionally. Most foundational to her life was her faith and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. She gratefully received and was blessed with spiritual nourishment and friendship from those at Trinity Evangelical Free Church in Ripon, and most significantly, from her dear Christian friend, Amy Polcyn. Through all of lifes struggles, she sought the Lord for guidance, strength, and forgiveness and set out eagerly for that everlasting and blessed life which is in Christ Jesus our Lord, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.
Nancy is survived by her two daughters, Angela (Ed) Cook of Saint Paul, MN and Cherise (Daniel) Ward of Spokane, WA; three grandchildren, Hannah, Emily, and Heidi Ward all of Spokane, WA; and two brothers, Phil Schleicher of Aurora, CO and Don (Jieyeon) Schleicher of Katy, TX; nieces, Stephanie Schleicher of Aurora, CO and Alice Schleicher of Katy, TX; and a nephew, David Schleicher of Katy, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents, Darwin and Alice Schleicher; her husband, Chris Hollerup; and her son, Tym Paul Hollerup.
