Mona Marie Kemnitz, age 81, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Sunday, October 10, 2021, at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac, WI.
Mona was born on October 8, 1940, and raised on a farm on the south side of Green Lake, WI. She attended grade school at the Lakeview School on Lakeview Rd., and graduated from Markesan High School in 1958. Mona worked for 42 years at Ripon Foods until she retired in 2000. She enjoyed traveling, and has criss-crossed the country as well as traveling to Hawaii. Most of all she enjoyed camping, and would go up north a few times each year. In her younger years she loved to fish and hunt. Mona lived on a farmette, where she raised rabbits, chickens, ducks, and sheep and also enjoyed carpentry work. She was one of Jehovah's Witnesses and met regularly at the Kingdom Hall.
Mona is survived by her brother, Roger (Joan) Kemnitz of Markesan, WI; a sister, Marlo (Scott) Janas of High Point, NC; nephews, Zebulun (Felicia) Kemnitz of Markesan, WI, and Montie Kemnitz also of Markesan; nieces, Connie (Dave) Barbknecht of Markesan, Bree (Noe) Pizano of Madison, WI, and Susan (Nathan) Bigler also of Madison, WI; and two grand nieces, Taylor and Lexi. She was preceded in death by her parents, Irving and Alice Kemnitz; a sister, Nancy Sprecher; and a brother, Rodney Kemnitz.
A graveside service for Mona will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 16, 2021, at Green Lake Center Cemetery in the Town of Green Lake, WI.
