Mitchell James Day, age 21, of Berlin, WI, passed away after a long-fought battle with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy on Friday, June 28, 2019 at his home with his family by his side.
Mitchell was born in Berlin, WI on June 2, 1998, the son of Shawn and Tanya (Wessel) Day. He attended school in Berlin and graduated from Berlin High School where he was a great inspiration to the student body, faculty and community.
Mitchell will be remembered by his contagious smile, sparkling brown eyes and his ability to light up the room. He was an avid sports lover and enjoyed watching his favorite teams the Milwaukee Bucks, Milwaukee Brewers, Wisconsin Badgers and the Green Bay Packers with his father Shawn. He also enjoyed gaming both online and against his brother Cody. He will be greatly missed by all.
Mitchell is survived by his parents, Shawn and Tanya Day of Berlin, WI; brother, Cody Day; grandparents, Mark and Sandy Wessel; grandmother, Patricia Day; aunts, Ann (Chris) Neuens and Shelli (Jeremy) Beulen; uncle, Scott Day; cousins, Emily Bohn, Riese, Riley and Ryder Beulen, Haley and Jason Neuens; special friend, Destiny Wilson; the many dear friends, and his favorite four-legged friends, Ireland, Zoey, Ruby, Brook and Maggie Mae. Mitchell is preceded in death by his uncle, Scott Wessel; grandfather, Jim Day; and great-grandparents, Edwin and Evelynn Ratajczak, Robert and Margaret Field, Harry and Ardella Rivers, and Harvey and Doris Krueger.
A visitation for Mitchell will be held on Sunday, July 7, 2019 from 1:00 pm- 4:00 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Dr., Ripon, WI 54971. Per the familys wishes, there will be no service for Mitchell. In honor of Mitchell, everyone is welcome to join his family in wearing any Wisconsin sports attire to the visitation.
