Michael Krupinski

Michael Putnam Lee Krupinski, age 64, of N4263 Lake Shore Dr, passed away Tuesday, June 20, 2006, at his home in Green Lake, Township of Princeton.
Michael was born April 25, 1942, in Erie, Pennsylvania, the son of John Putnam Lee and Mary (Meagher) Krupinski. On June 10, 1967, he married Kathryn Ann Toonen at St. Mary’s in Elm Grove, WI. He was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church in Princeton and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. He graduated from Rich High School in Park Forest, Illinois in 1960; University of Wisconsin, 1966, B.S. Electrical Engineering; Illinois Institute of Technology, 1968, M.S. Electrical Engineering; University of Nevada, Las Vegas, 1979, M.B.A. Mike began his career as a communications engineer in Chicago, Illinois. Of significant achievement was the work he participated in for the 1969 moon landing antenna system. In 1973, he moved to Las Vegas, NV, and worked as a nuclear engineer for ReeCo and EG&G at the Nevada Test Site. He engineered Stealth technology, and was key in the management of the weapons testing program. Moving to Idaho Falls, Idaho, he was involved in NASA shuttle technology and was an early and influential figure in engineering and developing progressive systems to manage our nation's nuclear waste program. He continued his work in the nuclear industry as a Vice President for MACTEC in San Diego, CA. and IT Corp in Knoxville, TN. In 1996, he moved to Green Lake, WI, and formed his own consulting company working on Department of Energy and Department of Defense programs. Mike's true love for his work is attested to not only by his industry achievements, but by his lifelong friendships developed throughout his career. Mike will be remembered as a man of the highest integrity by all those who had the privilege of working with him. Mike is a 35 year veteran of model railroading and thoroughly enjoyed building Milwaukee Road train layouts to thrill his children, grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Mike shared a deep love for the Grand Tetons with his family. He will always be remembered for the serenity he found fly fishing in the mountain streams. He had a deep appreciation for Native American culture, and thoroughly enjoyed history. He fulfilled his final dream of tracing Lewis and Clark's steps to Lolo Pass, Montana, with his wife Katie in 2005. Mike enjoyed golfing with his family and friends, and supporting his beloved UW Badgers. Michael, Mike, Daddy, Day-Day, Grampa, Mickey, Ski, Mikey, Columbo, Coach was loved and will be missed by those whose lives he touched.
Survivors include wife, Kathryn of Green Lake; daughters, Rebecca (Matthew) Van Scyoc of Green Lake, Pasha (Andrew) Accardi of Carlsbad, CA. and Jennifer Krupinski of Chicago, IL; grandchildren, Matthew, Christopher and Kathryn Van Scyoc and Noelle, Taylor and Nina Accardi; sister, Ann (Rick) Haydu of Lombard, IL; brother, Mark (Cathy) Krupinski of Rice Lake, WI. Michael was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation for Michael Krupinski will be held on Friday, June 30, 2006, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, in Princeton.
Mass of Christian Burial for Michael Krupinski will be held on Friday, June 30, 2006, at 1:00 p.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Princeton, with Father Dale Grubba officiating.
