Mary Ellyn Bloch, age 96, of Green Lake, WI passed away on Monday, August 22, 2022 at home with family at her side.
Mary was born on December 30, 1925 in Glen Ellyn, IL, daughter of Gertrude and Merritt Palmer. On June 21, 1949, Mary married Dr. Gustave Burton “Burt” Bloch. They resided in Lancaster, WI where they raised nine children. They moved to Green Lake in 1997. They enjoyed traveling the world and spending many winters in Puerto Rico and Florida.
Mary is survived by her children, Debby Bloch, Tia (Lou) Heitke, Tim (Lynnette) Bloch, Mimi (Tom) Walton, Leslie (Mike) Gearing, Kelly (Rock) Snider, and Jon (Jen) Bloch; son-in-law, Scott Wendler; grandchildren, Meggie (Dan) Graham, Katie (Vince) Kalt, Amanda (Mike) Schaal, Andrew Bloch, Rob (Stephanie) Walton, Jack (Gretchen) Walton, Dan Wendler, David (Cassie) Wendler, Sarah Wendler, Erin (Tim) Chmelik, Peter Chmelik, John Kinas, Claire (D.J.) Raasch, Jacob Johnson, Sam Johnson, Chip (Abby) Bloch, Becky (Reed) Bloch and nineteen great-grandchildren. Mary was preceded in death by her loving husband, Burt; daughter Ann Wendler; son, Jeff Bloch; parents, Gertrude and Merritt Palmer; and a sister, Bobbie (Buddy) Fletcher.
Visitation for Mary will be held on Friday, September 16, 2022, from 3:00 until 4:00 pm at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, 530 Ruth St., Green Lake, WI 54941.
A Funeral Mass for Mary will be held at 4:00 pm on Friday, September 16, 2022 at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Green Lake, with Father John Silva officiating. Inurnment will follow at Dartford Cemetery, Green Lake, WI.
Mary’s family appreciates all of the loving care provided by her caregivers. They also are grateful for care provided by the SSM Hospice staff.
