Marvin Schure

July 1, 1926 — August 1, 2010

Marvin A. Schure, age 84, of Ripon, passed away on Sunday, August 1, 2010, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton.

Marvin was born to Alexander and Olga (Krueger) Schure on July 1, 1926 in the Town of Metomen of Fond du Lac County. He attended school in the Town of Metomen. He served in the US. Army from October of 1944 until October of 1946. Marvin married Geraldine Swanson on June 15, 1957 in Racine Wisconsin. Marvin owned and operated Schure’s Auto Body and Schure’s Laundromat, both of Ripon. He was a member of the American Legion Brown-Parfitt Post #43, the Schultz-Klemp-Wetland V.F.W. Post #5278, Our Savior’s United Church of Christ, charter member of the Ripon Rifle Club, and the Fond du Lac Bowling Association Hall of Fame.

The survivors include, his wife Gerry of Ripon, children Jon (Danelle) Schure of Rush Lake, and Amy (Mike) Dunbar of Oshkosh; grandchildren Casey and Morgan of Oshkosh, sister Lorraine Wetzel of Ripon; one niece and one nephew. Marvin has been preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation for Marvin A. Schure will be held Wednesday, August 4, 2010, from 4-7 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Dr. Ripon, and Thursday, August 5, 2010 from 10-11 am at Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ, 343 Scott St. Ripon.

Funeral service for Marvin A. Schure will be held Thursday, August 5, 2010, at 11:00 am at Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ with the Reverend Mark R. West officiating. Interment will follow at the Garden of the Cross Cemetery, Ripon. A memorial is being established.
