Marvin L Rank

Marvin “Marv” Lawrence Rank, age 79, of Fond du Lac, WI, reached the 19th hole on Saturday, March 25, 2023 at St. Agnes Hospital, and will be enjoying golfing with his buddies forever more.

Marv was born April 24, 1943 in Oshkosh, WI, the son of Richard and Mabel (Lloyd) Rank. He worked for many years in the foundry and casting department at Mercury Marine in Fond du Lac, WI. Marv loved golfing and John Deere tractors, but even more, he loved his cat, Whiskers. For 17 years, Marv saved a seat on the sofa for Whiskers. He was also known to take her for walks or rides on his tractor. Marv had a sassy, off-beat sense of humor that he thoroughly enjoyed sharing with his family and friends every chance he got.

Survivors include his wife of more than 30 years, Barbara Rank of Fond du Lac, WI; children, Kevin Rank of Doniphan, MO, Lisa (Peter) Bogucke of Princeton, WI, and Rick (Ann) Rank of Randolph, WI; children of Barbara; John McGowan and Ann (Alex) Mickelson, both of Charlotte, NC; grandchildren, Brittany, Cameron, Stephanie, Amanda, Jon, Josh, Nelson, Kolin and Anna Sophia; 19 great-grandchildren; and brothers, Leeland (Betty) Rank and LeRoy (Laura) Rank. He is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Marv was preceded in death by his very special friend, Whiskers; parents, Richard and Mabel Rank; brothers, Ronald and Thomas Rank; and daughter-in-law, Sheryl Rank.

A visitation for Marv will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2023 from 10 – 11:00 am at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Dr., Ripon, WI 54971.

A memorial service for Marv will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2023 at 11:00 am at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, with Rev. Wesley Wassell officiating. Inurnment will take place at Waukau Cemetery, Town of Rushford, on Marv’s birthday, April 24, 2023 at 11:00 am. A memorial is being established in his name.
