Marvin Liptow

August 11, 1921 — January 27, 2005

Marvin L. “ChoCho” Liptow, 83, 504 Russell Dr, Ripon, passed away Thursday afternoon, January 27, 2005, at Fountain View Health Care Center, Ripon.

He was born August 11, 1921, in Ripon, a son to Frank E. and Linda B (Schultz) Liptow, and attended Ripon Schools. Marvin served in the U.S. Army Infantry for 3 years during WWII. After the war he worked on the assembly line at Speed Queen in Ripon for 37 years until his retirement. Marvin was a member of Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ, Ripon.

Marvin is survived by 1 sister, Gladys E. Lee of Ripon; sister-in-law, Dorothy Liptow of Ripon; 1 niece; 3 nephews; great-nieces & nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 sisters, Myrtle Warnke and Alvira Liptow; and 1 brother, Gordon Liptow.

A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. on Sunday, January 30, 2005, at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, Ripon with Rev. Gerald Schrankler officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from 5-7 p.m., with a V.F.W. Service at 6:45 p.m. at the funeral home. Inurnment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ripon. Memorial may be given to American Cancer Society, Midwest Division, 3311 S Packerland Dr, DePere, WI 53214 in his name.
