Martin Vinz

Martin E. Vinz, age 81, passed away at home on Monday, June 4, 2018 in the Town of Ripon.

Martin was born in Fond du Lac, WI on June 1, 1937 to Vincent and Leona Vinz. He graduated from Rosendale High School in 1955. Shortly after graduation, he was employed at Speed Queen where he worked for 42 years. He belonged to 32nd Infantry Division of the National Guard Company B which were sent to Ft. Lewis in fall of 1961 for approximately one year. Shortly after his return to the Ripon area, he met Georgene Whitney whom he married on August 17, 1963. They purchased a small farm near Ripon which continues to be their residence. Marty worked the farm along with his in-law's farm after their retirement. His hobbies included collecting farm toys, some antiques, and attending auctions. He belonged to the Ripon FFA Alumni Association. He helped his son start the local Farm Toy Show in Ripon.

Martin will be missed by his wife, Georgene; his daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Alex Cohen; his son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Tracy Vinz; and his pet, Buddy. He is further survived by his sister-in-law, Jacqueline Vinz; niece, Michelle (William) Kelty and family; nephews, Nik (Kelly) Vinz and family and TJ (Callie) Vinz and family; along with many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Marvin; and his in-laws, Glenn and Lura Whitney.

A visitation for Martin will be held from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm on Thursday, June 7, 2018, at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Dr., Ripon, WI, 54971.

A funeral service for Martin will be held at 12:00 pm on Thursday, June 7, 2018, at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, with Reverend Michael Morning officiating. Interment will follow at Rosendale Cemetery, Rosendale, WI. A memorial is being established in his name.
