Rosendale

Marsyl “Marcie” Joy Ferch Kunkle, Beloved Child of God, died Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at home with her family around her. She was born August 19, 1944, at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin to Joy (Phillips) and Carlton Ferch with her big sister Carolee waiting at home.

Marcie attended a one room school in West Rosendale through the 8th grade and graduated as valedictorian of her Rosendale High School class. She earned a BS in Mathematics and Psychology from Wisconsin State University – Oshkosh.

Marcie married Dale M. Kunkle on February 11, 1967, in Rosendale, Wisconsin. After short stays at US Army bases in Homestead, Florida and Ft Meade, Maryland, they made their home in Rosendale and had 2 daughters, Ann Elizabeth and Susan Marie.

Marcie enjoyed 37 years of working and learning each day at Ripon Drug. There she had amazing colleagues who became friends and felt like family.

Marcie was very active in a multitude of community organizations throughout her entire life. She received the Rosendale VFW Post #10195 Outstanding Citizen Award in May 2022 in recognition of her many years of service to the community.

Marcie is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Ann Kunkle-Jones and Kemp Jones and Susan and Tim Zima; grandchildren, Riley Jones (Ally Binder), Sydney (Michael) Pini, and Lakin Zima; sister, Carolee Floyd; nephews, Michael (Sue) Floyd and David Baker; and nieces, Laurie Cameron, Jean Donovan, Barb Lang, Deb Wilde, and Connie Ostroski; and many great-nieces and nephews.

Marcie was preceded in death by her husband, Dale; parents, Carlton and Joy Ferch; in-laws, Bud and Marie Kunkle; brother-in-law, Earl Floyd; brothers and sisters-in-law, Don and Arlice Kunkle and Donna and Woody Baker; niece, Denise Floyd; and nephew, John Kunkle.

We learned great life lessons from our Mom that she lived by daily:

  • Strive to learn something new every day
  • - Always help others – especially those in need
  • - Fully Rely on God (F.R.O.G.)

- In memory of her life, Marcie asks that you take action on behalf of: the homeless, the hungry, the stranger, the outcast.
