Mark Ellis

January 20, 1966 — January 22, 2022

Mark D. Ellis passed away unexpectedly at home on January 22, 2022.

Mark was born January 20,1966 in Rockford, Illinois, the son of Dave and Peggy Ellis, living most of his life in Green Lake, Wisconsin. Mark attended Green Lake High School. He married his love, Lori (Groveau) Ellis and together they raised their 2 children, Sean and Kathryn. Mark worked as an excavator for Krause Excavating for many years. He had a love for watching sports, especially football, and his Chicago Bears. His favorite football-watching-buddy for life was his Dad, Dave. If there was a football game on (not to mention many other sports), they were watching it, together. Mark enjoyed golfing and cooking. He loved to make his “famous” spaghetti sauce and his not so famous “al dente” noodles for his family. He was also a master on the grill.

Mark was a quiet soul. Although his exit of this world was unexpected, he left it doing the things he loved best. The day leading up to his death was preceded by laughter, great conversation, and lots of smiles. Eating pasta, watching football, and surrounded by his family, his time came and he went peacefully. Mark faced more losses than most of us can only imagine, but is now reunited with his wife Lori, son Sean, and daughter Kathryn who also left this world way too soon.
Survivors include: Parents, Dave and Peggy Ellis; brother, Dan Ellis; and sister, Rebecca Ellis; nephew, Riley Ellis; aunt, Barb Allen and family; uncle, Steve (Sue) Ellis and family; uncle, Tom (Michelle) Markunas; special in-laws, The Groveau Family; special cousins, Amy (Al) Devera- Galluzzo and Andrea Reddic; and a Bonus Daughter, Melissa Sorenson. He was also preceded in death by great grandparents, grandparents, an aunt, and uncles.

A family graveside burial will be held at a later date to be determined.
