Marilyn was born and raised in Oshkosh, WI on November 9, 1932, daughter of Carl and Grace (Soper) Andresen. She was the youngest of four children, and her father died when she was two. Marilyn graduated from Oshkosh High School. She met Oscar Hageman square dancing, and in 1953 they married at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Oshkosh. Together they adopted two children, Duane in 1961 and Tammy in 1962. In 1965 Marilyn began working for the National Forensics League in Ripon, WI, starting out as a receptionist and working her way up to office manager and winning a National Forensic Hall of Fame award. Marilyn and Oscar loved traveling with their Coachman camping group, often including their grandchildren; enjoyed trips with Oscar to Germany; and always had a German Shepherd to love and care for. She was a devoted member of Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ in Ripon, singing in the choir, teaching Sunday School, and was involved with Pairs & Spares. Marilyn played piano, loved cross-word puzzles and Sudoko, reading, and was a master canner after watching her mother growing up. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren meant the world to her, and she cherished every moment with them.
Marilyn is survived by her daughter, Tammy (Tom) Widlake; two grandchildren, Clinton (Stephanie) Widlake and Melissa (fiancé, Keith Kastein) Widlake; six great-grandchildren, Hazel, Lilly, Henry, Nathan, Josie, and Alden; and several nieces and nephews.
