Marie A. Tollard

October 11, 1935 — June 24, 2023

Ripon

Marie “ReeRee” Agnes (Disterhaft) Tollard of Ripon, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 24, 2023 with her family by her side.

Leonard and Margaret Kasuboski welcomed their daughter, Marie, into their lives on October 11, 1935, in Rosendale, Wisconsin. She was the oldest daughter of 14 children in the Kasuboski family.

Marie attended Ripon High School and graduated on June 10, 1954. On October 8, 1955, Florian and Marie Disterhaft married at St. Wenceslaus in Ripon. During the first years of marriage, Marie had worked at Ripon Cookie and The Advertisers. Florian and Marie adopted their 3 children, Gregory, Audrey and Amy, making their family complete! Marie focused her life on raising her children and was a stay at home mother. During her marriage to Florian, they enjoyed auctions, flea markets and a good old garage sale. They played cards together for years in the Ripon Smear League. Marie worked hard on the family farm and loved her cows. Florian and Marie were married for 30 years, until his death on September 26, 1986. After the death of Florian, Marie went to work at Admanco in Ripon for many years.

On June 8, 1991 Marie met Donald Tollard while out polka dancing with her girlfriends. While Marie had to bribe Don with a beer to dance with her, little did they know it would be love at first sight. On February 14, 1992, Don and Marie were married at St. Wenceslaus in Ripon. For 31 years they built a life together that was simply beautiful. Together they traveled all over the country. They purchased a home in Central Florida where they enjoyed late fall to early spring for nearly 15 years. Marie and Don would travel great distances to hit up a good polka dance! They loved food and would drive miles for a good meal. They also enjoyed a good garage sale here and there! Marie loved introducing herself and Don to strangers as “ We are Don and Marie but we are not the Osmonds, were the Tollards!” There are not enough words that could explain how special these two were for one another.

Marie was a gem, one of a kind. She will always be known for her witty sense of humor, spunkiness, sassiness, and not to forget stubbornness! Marie was not afraid to speak her mind. She could be harsh, but with love behind it. Marie was adored by so many people for the woman she was. She was not afraid to walk up to a complete stranger and strike up a conservation. Marie worked hard all her life and taught her children those values. She loved her grandchildren and throughout the years left a footprint on each of their hearts. She was so proud of her children and grandchildren. She was always there for them when they needed her. Grandma ReeRee and Auntie ReeRee was her name and she loved it! Marie loved life, every part of it. Polka dancing, traveling, flea markets, garage sales, brandy ole fashions, birds, nightly road trips to count the deer, baking, cooking, sewing, embroidering and talking smack.

Marie is survived by her husband of 31 years, Donald Tollard; children, Gregory (Wanda) Disterhaft, Audrey (Mike) Dorsey, and Amy Kamphuis; step-daughter, Roxanne Tollard; grandchildren, Andrew (Alicia) Kamphuis, Michael Dorsey, Nicholas Kamphuis, Taylor Dorsey, Courtney (Clint) Zumer, Eric Kamphuis, Meghan Kamphuis, and Kylie Disterhaft; great-grandchildren, Aiden Kamphuis, Payton King, and Maverick Zumer; brothers, Raymond Kasuboski, Fred (Sally) Kasuboski, Peter (Laurie) Kasuboski; sisters, Bernice Wagner, Teresa Miller, and Angeline Chappa; sisters-in-law, MaryJane Kapp, Doria Disterhaft, Patricia Disterhaft, Mary Ann Kasuboski, Joyce Kasuboski, and Barb Kasuboski; brother-in-law, Jerry Wrage.
