Marie Schlutter

December 2, 1908 — May 28, 2005

Marie A. Schlutter, age 96, of Markesan, formally of West Allis, Hales Corners and Kingston, passed away early Saturday morning, May 28, 2005, at Markesan Resident Home in Markesan. Marie was born December 2, 1908 in Helenville, WI, the daughter of Joseph and Anna (Moser) Welter. She graduated from West Allis Central High School. She married Harry Schlutter June 30, 1934, and was a housewife. Marie was the first president of the Ladies of Columbus, West Allis Chapter and a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Markesan. She also enjoyed playing cards and traveling.

Survivors include her children Doris (Robert) Hanneman of Oconomowoc, Daniel (Suzanne) of Plover and Donald (Marietta) of Sun Prairie. Dearest grandmother of Julie (Doug) Finnessy, Jeffery (Judy), Jill, Jon, Mark Hanneman, Cary Hanneman, Tamara (Michael) Rubin, Doug (Julie), Dawn (Jim) Nelson. Great-grandmother of Ryan, Amanda, Ashley, Allison, Cody, Christopher, Alexis, Moses, Caleb, Tobias, Katie and Tyler. Great-great-grandmother to Lynzie Mae and Carter. She is further survived by other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband 5 brothers and 2 sisters and great-grandson Adam.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday June 1, 2005, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Markesan, with Father Richard Lesniak officiating. Visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to the time of service. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Village of Kingston. A memorial has been established.
