Margaret "Marty" Catherine Wizner

Margaret “Marty” Catherine Jenuwine Wizner, age 92, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Sunday, June 25, 2023 at Prairie Place in Ripon.

Marty was born to Sylvester and Agnes Jenuwine on June 14, 1931, in Warren, Michigan. She graduated from Warren High School, then continued her education in nursing at Nazareth Nursing School in Kalamazoo, MI. She proudly graduated as valedictorian, earning her degree as a registered nurse. Marty met the love of her life, Charles Wizner, in Ripon, on a blind date. The two married on August 25, 1956, in Ripon. Together they had four beautiful children.

Marty had a passion for collecting pins and broaches. It didn’t matter whether they were big or small; she labeled them with the date and location where they were purchased. She also enjoyed sewing, painting, reading and cooking. She was a very accomplished pianist. Marty always encouraged her family to try new foods. Her Polish dish was famous at family gatherings. She was a proud member of the Church Women United and the Alter and Rosary Society. 

Marty is survived by her children, Barb (Dan) Riordan of Lake Villa, IL, Amy (Peter) Dickmann of Kewaskum, WI, Richard Wizner of Wausau, WI, David Wizner of Ripon, WI; 8 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; brother, Herbert Jenuwine; sister-in-law, Barbara Jenuwine; and many nieces, nephews, cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents; loving husband, Charles Wizner; brother, Charles Jenuwine; sister, Barbara (Frank) Helfrick; and sister-in-law, Helen Jenuwine.

Visitation for Marty will be held from 4:00-7:00 pm on Thursday, July 6, 2023 at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Dr., Ripon, WI 54971. Then again from 9:30-10:30 am on Friday, July 7, 2023 at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 222 E Blossom St., Ripon, WI  54971.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Marty will take place at 10:30 am on Friday, July 7, 2023 at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church with Rev. Jim Leary, OFM Cap officiating. Interment at St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery in Ripon will follow. A memorial is being established in her name.
