Marcella “Marcy” McCauley, age 89, of Green Lake, WI, passed away on Friday, June 11, 2021 in Lakewood Ranch, FL.
Marcy was born on March 28, 1932 in Glidden, WI, the daughter of Louis and Cecelia (Hennes) Rein and the youngest of 10 children. She moved to Green Lake in 1964, and on May 17, 1965, married Donald “Don” McCauley in Ironwood, MI. Don passed away in July, 2008. Marcy was a nurse for 55 years and ended her career at the age of 72 from Parkview Nursing Home in Ripon, WI. She loved music, dancing, and enjoyed an occasional ice cold Budweiser. Marcy was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and of course, the Packers. Additionally, she was a political advocate for healthcare reform. Marcy was known for her green thumb, planting herbs, flowers, raspberries, and loved wildlife, often watching nature from her picture window. She was an excellent baker and cook who specialized in pies, especially her delicious rhubarb custard.
Marcy is survived by her children, Donna Magee of Germantown, MD, Steven (Dana) McCauley of Knoxville, TN, and Lori McCauley of Lakewood Ranch, FL; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and her beloved grand-pups, Boots and Bear. She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Cecelia Rein; and her nine siblings.
A Celebration of Life for Marcy will be held on a private Yacht Cruise on the Escapade in Green Lake, WI, on Sunday, September 12, from 11:30 am until 2:30 pm. Pickup is at the Heidel House Resort in Green Lake at 11:15 am. Lunch will be provided. RSVP is required. Please email Lori at cubslc22@gmail.com.
