Louis A. Kasten, age 89, of Markesan, passed away Wednesday, October 31, 2007 at his home.
Louis was born on March 8, 1918, in Ogema, WI, the son of Frank and Matilda (Heller) Kasten. He graduated from Green Lake High School in 1936. Louis married Lucille (Inversetti) in January of 1945. After Lucilles death in 1991, he married Agnes (Koehler) in February of 1993. Louis served in the United States Air Force from 1940 until his retirement in 1966, reaching the rank of Chief Master Sergeant. He then made his home in Green Lake, until his health required him to move to the Markesan Resident Home in Markesan. Louis spent 4 years on the Green Lake City Council. He was an avid golfer, fisherman and bridge player.
Survivors include his wife, Agnes; step-children, Karl (Peggy) Koehler and Kathy (Russ) Kinney; nieces, Kathy (Bill) Rohde and Pat (Tom) Kohl; nephews, Norman Kasten and Douglas (Barbara) Kasten. Also leaving behind, his beloved dog Max. Louis was preceded in death by his parents, late wife, Lucille and brothers, Clarence, Ervin and Lester.
Visitation for Louis Kasten will be held on Thursday, November 29, 2007 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at Peace Lutheran Church in Green Lake.
Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, November 29, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Peace Lutheran Church of Green Lake with Reverend Rodney E. Dietsche officiating. Inurnment will be held in Oakwood Cemetery, Berlin with full military honors.
